The Stockholm Criminology Symposium is an annual event featuring over 500 attendees from close to 40 countries. The Symposium was held for the first time in June 2006.

The primary purpose of the Symposium is to create an environment where international criminologists, policy makers, practitioners and others engaged in criminal policy matters can take part of the latest research findings of importance for crime policy. The participants will be able to discuss strategies, methods and measures to reduce crime and improve levels of safety in society.

The Symposium is organized by the Swedish National Council of Crime Prevention on behalf of the Swedish Government.

The Stockholm Prize in Criminology
The Stockholm Prize in Criminology is awarded in conjunction with the Symposium. The award ceremony takes place at Stockholm City Hall and is followed by a Symposium dinner. All participants at the Symposium are invited. Read more about the Stockholm Prize in Criminology here.
